It’s been a long, cold winter for most of us. We have endured months of shoveling, driving through snow and ice, dreaming of spring. Well, at long last, spring is here. With spring comes the anticipation of getting out there and taking that first swing. First, you have to work out the kinks and get back in shape. Next, you need to assess your equipment and consider investing in a new golf bag from the great selection available at Irv’s Luggage.
Like almost everything, there is a golf bag available at every price. Some options include:
• Leather
• Ballistic Nylon
Leather is elegant and luxurious, no two ways about it. Leather is extremely durable and shows character as it ages. Leather can also be heavy, so be sure you can manage the weight of the bag.
Ballistic Nylon is not as good looking (hey, that’s reality), but has great functionality. Lighter in weight, nylon golf bags will be weather resistant, easy to clean, and generally have lots of pockets and storage space.
Golf bags come with a variety of features, so you need to evaluate what is most important to you – a smaller bag holding just 10 – 12 clubs for a quick game, or the larger golf bag with some or all of the following features:
• In-line skate wheels
• Quilted top and sides with extra padding for clubs
• Zip off shoe bag
• Towel hook
• Umbrella loop
• Lock
• Carry handle and padded shoulder strap
• Water bottle pocket
• Outside pockets for incidentals
Some great brands to look at when shopping for a golf bag are (listed in price order, high to low):
• Mulholland Brothers – Leather
• Tumi – Ballistic Nylon
• Piel – Leather
• Samsonite Golf Travel – Ballistic Nylon
Don’t forget the golf “extras”, like club head covers (a very popular item) and a new shoe bag.
So, “spring” into action and shop for a new golf bag today. As for your swing, we can’t help you with that. We can just make sure you look like a serious golfer when you get out there.
