NFL Licensed Gear - Just in Time for the Big Game!

The big game is Sunday. Super Bowl Sunday! I’m a huge football fan and I am very sad to see the season come to an end for another year. Too bad the mighty Chicago Bears fell one game short of going to the big game. Oh well, like all the other Chicago teams, ‘maybe next year’.  Football fans can rejoice that at least we have one more game this season to savor. And, it should be a good game!  Two high flying offenses and enough defense to keep it interesting.

I found a great way to stay connected to my favorite sport from now until the season resumes in late August… NFL gear from Athalon.  This is not your typical fan jersey, foam finger or goofy looking hat… Athalon has developed an entire line of NFL travel gear including: golf bags, duffle bags, carry on luggage, wheeled luggage, golf trunk lockers and tail gate coolers. I’m not into flaming fan stuff, but I really like this selection of travel gear from Athalon. Each piece is color matched to the team (NY Jets gear is a deep, rich green; Steelers are black and yellow; Minnesota Vikings is a rich purple) and embroidered with the team’s name and logo.

In case you haven’t heard of Athalon, they’ve been around for over 25 years. In 1973, Athalon set up manufacturing in Denver, Colorado. Each bag was tested and designed by Athalon employees, all of whom are avid sports enthusiasts and travelers. In order to pass the rigorous tests each bag had to be incredibly durable, perform perfectly, and had to be lightweight and water repellent. Athalon doesn’t have the brand recognition of a Samsonite, Delsey or Briggs & Riley, but Athalon makes an incredibly durable bag…surely a fan favorite.

Over the weekend, I’ll put a Pittsburgh Steeler wheeled duffel and a Green Bay carry on bag in my office. I’ll let the luggage fight it out over the weekend. For Sunday, I won’t pick a winner, nor reveal who I want to win (note that Bears fans notoriously despise teams to the North, but I am even less a fan of Big Ben).
