Rick Steves - Great Guide, Day Pack & Trip

Rick Steves….. I want your job!!! Since 1973 Rick Steves, the public television travel guru, has spent 120 days a year on the road, traveling Europe, discovering wonderful places off the beaten path and gathering information and tips on all European travel for his well watched TV program and his 50 published guidebooks. Rick Steves has spent a large portion of his adult life living out of a suitcase, so who better to trust, with your plans and the makings of a well designed piece of luggage, than Rick Steves himself.

A few years ago my mother took all her daughters and daughter-n-laws, eight of us, sightseeing in Europe; we had a wonderful time. However with several different personalities involved deciding which site to see became an issue; that’s when we turned to Rick Steves to help make the final decision; with his easy going manner, honest and practical dialogue and his over 35 years experience in the travel industry, Rick was an invaluable resource.  A year earlier my father had taken “the boys” to Ireland for a week of golf.  While they also used Rick Steves as a tour guide; they certainly could have used a little additional guidance to help steer them away from the too many pubs they visited as they literally stumbled their way through the beautiful Irish countryside.

Both groups could not have gotten on nearly as well either, without the Rick Steves Luggage travel daypack, the Civita Microfiber Day Pack (his own personal traveling daypack of choice).  This fabulous pack that reduces down to practically nothing and weighs a mere nine ounces was the perfect tough, but ultra light bag to carry everyone’s “stuff” in; with the 1050 cubic inches of interior space and the two mesh water bottle pockets (that didn’t necessarily always have water in them :) ) you had the perfect take along bag for the long days of sightseeing and long hours on the golf course!

The memories of these fabulous trips will remain with my family forever and I am thankful to Rick Steves for the role he played……..however I still want his job!!
